David Halpert, MD

Dr. David Halpert is a seasoned nephrologist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. A 1991 graduate of Rush Medical College of Rush University, he has since served patients throughout the community with expertise in conditions such as hypertensive chronic kidney disease and diabetes‑related renal disorders.

Dr. Halpert has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career and had been affiliated with several hospitals, including Bethesda Hospital East and West. Recognized nationally for his dedication to patient safety, he is committed to preventing infections, reducing medical errors, and ensuring the highest standard of care for every patient he treats.

Having retired from private practice in 2019, he joined JEM Research Institute as a clinical researcher who has served as principal investigator or sub-investigator on over 50 clinical trials spanning therapeutic areas such as cardiometabolic, central nervous system conditions, and vaccines, helping to bring new therapeutic options forward for patients.
